A full-scale war between Russia and Ukraine is possible only if there are provocations from the Ukrainian side. It was stated by the Chairman of the State Duma Committee for CIS Affairs Leonid Kalashnikov, as TASS reports.
According to Kalashnikov, Russia does not want to fight with Ukraine.
"Nobody in Russia wants a war with Ukraine, this can only happen the case of provocations from Kyiv side" Leonid Kalashnikov said.
At the same time, Putin’s Spokesperson Dmitriy Peskov said that the Kremlin regrets the statements of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky about the possibility of war with Russia.
Meanwhile, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky surmises there is a chance of a full-scale war with Russia.
"If there's a powerful escalation from the Russian side - that's the most horrific thing there is. Unfortunately, there is such a chance," Zelensky said.
However, if it comes to this, it will be a tragic mistake for Moscow, Ukrainian leader added. According to him, in this case, "Ukraine will show no more friendly attitude to Russia and Belarus".
