The visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Ukraine is possible in early summer. This was stated by the French Ambassador to Ukraine Etienne de Poncins in an interview with Ukrinform.

"President Macron reaffirmed his desire to visit Ukraine as soon as the epidemic situation allows. We are talking about the first half of the year or this summer," the ambassador said.

According to him, the exact date has not yet been determined, but the Elysee Palace confirms the prospect of Macron's visit to Kyiv.

Poncins added that Macron also spoke about his desire to come to Ukraine during a meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky in Paris.

The ambassador also noted that the recent visit of President Zelensky to Paris should be viewed as a regular contact between the leaders of France and Ukraine, which took place according to plan.

On April 16, Zelensky, together with First Lady Olena Zelenska, began a working visit to France.

During his working trip, Zelensky held talks with Emmanuel Macron. Angela Merkel also joined negotiations. Zelensky discussed with Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel the exacerbation of the situation in Donbas.
