French and U.S. OSCE representatives urged Russia to continue negotiations to stop the armed conflict in Donbas. Ambassador in the organization James Gilmour and his colleague Christine Fages stated this, as the official website of OSCE reported.
"Russia has to continue to participate constructively in negotiations relating to the implementation of Minsk agreements to put an end to the conflict it started," the American and French OSCE diplomatists emphasized resulting at their meeting in Viena.
Gilmour called Russian aggression in Ukraine, partial territory occupation and Crimea annexation one of the main challenges for security in Europe and Eurasia. He noted that not so many countries apart from France and the U.S. have a common interest to let OSCE play potentially more important role in solving such problems.
James Gilmour welcomed the prisoner swap, which happened between Ukraine and Russia on September 7.
As we reported earlier, the exchange of captives was in "35 on 35" format.
