“The constructive atmosphere of the negotiations with the participation of Russia, Ukraine, OSCE and representatives of uncontrolled areas of Donbas during yesterday’s meeting of the contact group in Belarus led to some progress in the implementation of Minsk Agreements. The conditions for entry into force of the future status of Donetsk and Luhansk regions were specified and withdrawal of the forces from three pilot areas was agreed by the side,” the French MFA stated.
France’s diplomats noted that their country welcomes these results of the negotiations on the settlement of Donbas Conflict and believes that currently the conditions are set for the upcoming meeting of the heads of the states and governments in Normandy Format.
On October 1, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine reported on the agreement of Steinmeier formula text in response to the letter of OSCE Special Representative in Trilateral Contac Group Martin Sajdik.
Russia considers the possibility of participation in the Normandy Format summit after signing of Steinmeier formula by Ukrainian side.
