German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron expressed the readiness to work for implementation of Minsk Agreements within the Normandy Format as TASS reported.
“They wished Russia to assume the necessary actions to create the favorable terms for the dialogue and reminded about full readiness to assume all possible efforts to implement Minsk Agreements within the Normandy Format,” the message said.
It is noted that Macron and Merkel emphasized the necessity to stop the conflict in the east of Ukraine.
The leaders of France and Germany noted that the military actions in Donbas influence the relations between Russia and the EU.
Earlier President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that he was ready to negotiate with Russia in the Normandy format.
Besides, Foreign Minister of Germany Heiko Maas stated that Berlin is in favor of maintaining the role of Germany and France as mediators during negotiations on the Donbas conflict settlement.
