France condemns the attacks that on the night of December 13th in Popasna, Luhansk region, put the lives of five OSCE SMM observers under threat, as it was said in the briefing at the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs of France, according to the Embassy of France in Ukraine.

“We are very concerned over the renewal of the intensity of fighting on the East of Ukraine, which since the beginning of December caused 17 people lives, while 37 were wounded,” the statement reads.

Paris is calling on all parties to return to the cease-fire regime for the Christmas holidays.

“In particular, we call on Russia to use its influence on the separatists in order to ensure the full cease-fire”.
