The founder of the largest opposition telegram channel of Belarus NEXTA, journalist Roman Protasevich, was detained in Minsk. This is reported by the NEXTA Live.
The plane with Roman Protasevich on boaed flew from Athens to Vilnius. Suddenly, the plane gave a distress signal, changed course and made an emergency landing at the Minsk National Airport. The emergency landing was caused by a mining signal.
“The plane was checked, the bomb was not found, and all the passengers were sent for re-examination. Among them was the former editor of Nexta, journalist Roman Protasevich. He was detained,” the statement says.
On behalf of the commander-in-chief, a fighter was raised to accompany the passenger plane. Now the MiG-29 is waiting for the necessary verification measures to be completed to escort the plane to the border with Lithuania, the Pool Pervogo Telegram channel reported.
"The plane landed because of a message about mining. The pilots requested a landing at the Minsk National Airport, the landing was successful. At the moment, the message about mining has not yet been confirmed. Sappers are working at the airport, passengers are being re-examined," the press secretary of the National airport of Minsk Romina Samatkhanova reports.
