Today, July 29, a telephone conversation took place between Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba and his Egyptian counterpart Samekh Shukri. The press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reports this.
"In development of the agreements between the presidents of Ukraine and Egypt, a telephone conversation took place between Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and Egyptian Foreign Minister Samekh Shukri," the statement says.
The interlocutors noted the significant progress in recent years in terms of politics and discussed further steps for the exchange of visits at the high and highest levels. Kuleba noted the importance of strengthening bilateral relations and invited his Egyptian counterpart to pay an official visit to Ukraine.
The ministers also discussed joint efforts aimed at diversifying cooperation in trade, economic, investment, tourism and humanitarian spheres.
"We are aiming at a significant increase in the volume of bilateral trade, which amounted to more than $ 2.6 billion last year. To this end, we offered the Egyptian side a new format of economic cooperation, namely to consider the possibility of concluding a bilateral preferential trade deal," Kuleba said.
As we reported before, Russia returned the note of protest, which Ukraine sent because of the naval parade in the occupied Sevastopol.
