Foreign Minister thanks Finland for support in counterworking Russian aggression

The parties confirmed their readiness to enhance the bilateral cooperation

Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin met with Timo Soini, Finland’s Internal Minister, at the 73rd UN General Assembly, as the press office of Ukraine’s Internal Minister reported.

“Pavlo Klimkin thanked his colleague for Finland’s ongoing support of Ukraine’s initiatives within the UN aimed at the counterwork of the Russian aggression,“ the message says.

In particular, it’s about the adoption of the UN General Assembly resolution on the territory of Ukraine, the status of implementation of human rights in occupied Crimea, and the inclusion of the new item into the UN General Assembly session agenda – “The situation on the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine”.

The Ministers discussed the ongoing aggression of Russia against Ukraine and violation of the Minsk Agreements and the need to enhance the pressure on the aggressor to release the political prisoners and prevent Moscow’s further provocations.

The 73rd session of the UN General Assembly is being held in New York. Petro Poroshenko will deliver a speech at the session at 4pm New York time.
