Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko believes that the Russian Federation insists on the invariability of  Minsk agreements because it wants to raise stakes before the next stage of negotiations. The corresponding statement was made by the head of Ukrainian diplomacy on Inter TV channel.
“I think that Russia understands that the requirements mentioned in Minsk are not real... As a result of a compromise and lengthy negotiations, I think they feel an opportunity to maneuver. They are now declaring that  "there are no maneuvers.” This is the usual stakes raose before the next round of negotiations,” Prystaiko said.
According to him, Moscow eventually realizes the need to amend the Minsk agreements, since there are many irrelevant dates in them.
“But there are certain changes that need to be made to the Minsk agreements, at least chronologically. They should have ended before the end of 2015 and many dates do not correspond to reality,” said the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.

Earlier, President Zelensky expressed confidence that the Minsk agreement can be changed.

He connects the need to adjust the document with the need to return to Ukraine control over its eastern border.
