The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba and the Chairman of the US House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs Gregory Meeks discussed the strengthening of the strategic partnership between the United States and Ukraine against the backdrop of increasing military threat and aggressive actions by Russia. The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reported this.
The Minister noted the special role of the US Congress in moving Ukrainian-American cooperation in the security sector to a deeper level, supporting Ukraine in the defense institution, strengthening sanctions on Russia, in particular, to prevent the completion of the Nord Stream-2.
Gregory Meeks assured Kuleba of enduring commitment to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, the readiness of the United States to continue to respond decisively to the subversive actions of the Russian Federation.
The Foreign Minister invited the Сhairman of the Сommittee to visit Ukraine when the circumstances of quarantine due to the COVID-19 pandemic allow it, and the invitation was accepted.
As it was reported earlier, on April 13, Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba and U.S. State Secretary Antony Blinken discussed all aspects of the Russian escalation that continues in occupied territories of Ukraine along the Russian-Ukrainian border and information space.
