Ford Company to close two plants in Russia

American Company Ford considers the possibility to close two plants in Russia within its global plan on restructuring as Reuters reported.

The Focus and Mondeo passenger car models produced at the Leningrad region plant, and the EcoSport and Fiesta models produced in Tatarstan would no longer be made in Russia,” the message said.

The official and worker of another Russian car company reported that Ford prepares for a close of the plant in Naberezhnye Chelny but they do not know anything about the close of the plant in Leningrad region,” the message said.

It is noted that Ford can produce 360,000 cars per year in Russia.

As we reported the Central Bank of the Russian Federation recommended small banks to prepare for possible disconnection from Visa and MasterCard payment systems because of the threat of increasing the U.S. sanctions.

Besides, American company Best Western Hotels & Resorts and the last western hotel chain presented in annexed Crimea left the peninsula due to the sanctions.
