The vaccine against coronavirus made by Pfizer is to supposed to reach Ukraine next month. Oleksandr Zaika, the Chief of Department for Immunziation Strategy of the Public Health Centre of Ukraine's Healthcare Ministry said so as quoted by Dim.
The vaccine will come in several tranches.
"The first supplies will take place already in April. Besides, more supplies will come in the second half-year. It doesn't mean that the entire amount will be supplied instantly. The vaccines can be supplied in tranches; teh stages of these supplies are approved by the suppliers before the drug reaches Ukraine", Zaika said.
On March 4, Prime Minister Denys Shmygal said that by the end of March, Ukraine will get 117,000 doses of Pfizer vaccine and 1.5 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine.
The vaccination campaing in Ukraine commenced on February 24. The doctors use CoviShield manufactured by the Indian Institute of Serum and licensed by Oxford-AstraZeneca. Some 81,000 citizens have received their first dose of vaccine by now.
