Federal Bureau of Investigation has rejected the White House request to deny media reports about connection between Donald Trump’s associates and Russian Federation.
This was reported by CNN referring to multiple US officials.
According to the channel, White House has asked FBI and other agencies investigating the ties between Trump’s headquarters and Russia to publicly deny this information.
As CNN reports, "The direct communications between the White House and the FBI were unusual because of decade-old restrictions on such contacts. Such a request from the White House is a violation of procedures that limit communications with the FBI on pending investigations".
US President and his administration have repeatedly accused American mass media of publishing fake news. Donald Trump called CNN, NBC, CBS and ABC "enemies of the people".
As it was reported earlier, US President Donald Trump's national security adviser, Michael Flynn, resigned late on Monday, February 13 after being accused of discussion of the possibility of lifting US sanctions on Russia before Trump took office.
