The Justice Department has started a new inquiry into whether the Clinton Foundation engaged in any pay-to-play politics or other illegal activities while Hillary Clinton served as Secretary of State, as The Hill was told by reliable sources.
According to the law enforcers, additional activities are expected in the upcoming weeks.
As officials told The Hill, the probe is examining whether the Clintons promised or performed any policy favours in return for donations.
In November, a few GOP members urged Attorney General Jeff Session to investigate the issues surrounding the Clintons, but Session later stated that the inquiry wasn’t convincing enough to appoint a special prosecutor.
