The fate of occupied Donbas and Crimea could be solved via the all-Ukraine referendum. Leonid Kravchuk, Ukraine's first president and the current head of the Ukrainian delegation in the Minsk talks group said so in an interview with Ukraine 24 TV channel.
"The matter of Donbas and Crimea is the most sensitive one today. Unfortunately, political forces in Ukraine perceive the war in Donbas in their own separate ways", Kravchuk said.
The ex-president assumes that people find it difficult to make up their minds on these issues, as political forces take very different positions in the matters of war and peace.
"Perhaps we will need to take it [to referendum] so that people share their thoughts about how things should go in the regions that are now not controlled by Ukraine, but still are Ukrainian territories", the politician said.
