Radical far-right activists attacked MP Andriy Lesyk, the member of Opposition Platform-For Life party. The political forces' press office confirmed that June 18. The incident took place in Kharkiv, as the MP attempted to lay flowers to the monument of Soviet Marshal Zhukov - due to the 45th anniversary of his death.
It appears that some retired people came to Zhukov monument to pay tribute to the Soviet military leader.
Some unknown individuals who wore the colors and symbols of Azov far-right movement destroyed the flowers, punched Lesyk and poured him with the brilliant green.
After the attack, the MP said no one would intimidate him; he added he would continue to protect the retired people and their right to 'honor the heroes who died in the Great Patriotic War'.
