Facebook provided access to users' data to 60 phone producers, - The New York Times

Social network Facebook has provided an access to the data of users at least to 60 producers of phones, including Apple, Amazon, BlackBerry, Microsoft, and Samsung during the last 10 years as The New York Times reported.

It is noted that in the number of the cases, phone producers received the access not only to the users' data but also the data of their friends without their permission.

According to the title, the majority of the agreements, within which the producers receive the access to the data of the Facebook users, are still in force, however, the social network has begun to cancel them since April 2018.

The Facebook representatives assure that the agreements on the access to the data with the producers correspond to the rules of the company and demands of the Federal Trade Commission of the US.

Facebook also emphasized that there was no case of the misuse of the data during the acting of the agreements.

As it was reported earlier, against the scandal with data leak of 50 million users and the use of it by Cambridge Analytica Company, Facebook reported on the simplifying of the privacy settings.

Zuckerberg was invited to the European Parliament to explain this incident. He should explain whether the use of European's data for the manipulation took place. It could be used by London’s Cambridge Analytica Company during Trump's election campaign.

On April 10, Zuckerberg has already testified in the hearing at the U.S. Senate.
