The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov signed an order to convene an extraordinary session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on August 25. At the meeting, it is planned to consider a bill by President Volodymyr Zelensky, which offers to raise the minimum wage to $180, as the press service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine reports.
"To convene an extraordinary session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the ninth convocation at 11:00 on August 25, 2020," the order says.
So, it is planned to consider a number of issues, in particular the presidential bill on amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2020" regarding the increase in the minimum wage. The MPs are also supposed to consider bills on the ratification of the Financial Agreement between Ukraine and the European Investment Bank and on the ratification of the Memorandum of Understanding between Ukraine as the Borrower and the EU as the Lender.
In addition, it is planned to consider a draft resolution on the announcement of a competition for the best sketch of the large State Emblem of Ukraine.
As we reported before, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky called on the MPs to gather for an extraordinary meeting on August 25 and support the draft law on increasing the minimum wage.
