The expulsion of the Russian diplomats from Ukraine can influence the process of the release of the Ukrainian political prisoners if Kremlin responds to it. Mariana Betsa, the spokeswoman of Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry claimed this as 112 Ukraine reported.

She specified that she cannot exclude any variants from the tit-for-tat measures from Russia to the asymmetrical response.

Also, Betsa reported that the Russian diplomats already leave Ukraine.

‘As far as I know, the Russian diplomats already leave Ukraine. It is out of the competence of the Foreign Ministry to control the departure but we should get the note about the end of the mission from the workers announced persona non-grata. They should immediately pass their accreditation cards’, she said.

Russia has a right to send new diplomats instead of the expelled as Betsa specified. Also, Ukraine has a right to not accept them. At the moment, the issue of the possible replacement of the expelled diplomats by new is not considered.

Earlier Ukraine also joined the sanctions and claimed the expulsion of 13 diplomats.
