A telephone conversation between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and President of the United States Joe Biden will take place today, January 2, at 22:00 Kyiv time. This was announced by the press secretary of the President of Ukraine Serhiy Nikiforov on Facebook.

"Presidents Volodymyr Zelensky and Joe Biden will have a telephone conversation today after 22:00 Kyiv time," Nikiforov wrote.

We remind, the President of the United States will hold a telephone conversation with the President of Ukraine on January 2. They plan to discuss Russia's military build-up on Ukraine's borders and analyze preparations for upcoming diplomatic contacts to de-escalate regional tensions.

The day before, on December 30, at 22:35 Kyiv time, the presidents of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden, had a telephone conversation. The conversation lasted 50 minutes. During it, Joe Biden called on Russian leader Vladimir Putin to de-escalate the situation around Ukraine and threatened Russia with consequences in the event of an invasion of Ukraine.
