Kurt Volker, ex-special representative of the U.S. State Department in Ukraine joined the Supervisory Board of BGS Rail company in this country. Radio Liberty said so with the reference to Avia Solutions, the group of companies that also include BGS Rail.

"The presence of Ambassador Volker in the company will let BGS Rail successfully develop and deploy development plans, which is supposed to increase the volume of direct foreign investments and create new jobs on the Ukrainian market", the Avia Solutions statement says.

Volker himself sees this as an opportunity to boost Ukraine's economy and create new jobs for Ukrainian citizens.

In 2017-2019, the official served as Special Representative of the U.S. State Department for Ukraine's Affairs. Volker left the office during the impeachment campaign against President Donald Trump, as the U.S. leader was charged with pressure on Ukraine.
