Former Secretary-General of NATO Anders Fogh Rasmussen has denied information spread by media that he appealed to the Ukrainians on the occasion of the candidacy of “Batkivshchyna” (Fatherland) Party Yulia Tymoshenko for the post of the president of Ukraine, as Pryamy TV channel reported.
“No. It is not true; I do not support any of the candidates. I just appealed to the Ukrainians in the video with the statement that if a country chooses the way to the EU, it should hold the reforms. It is my message to all the candidates. This video is dedicated to all the candidates,” he emphasized.
Recently, the mass media spread information that ex-Secretary-General of NATO Anders Fogh Rasmussen and President of European People’s Party Joseph Daul appealed to the Ukrainians on the occasion of the candidacy of Yulia Tymoshenko for the post of the president of Ukraine.
As we reported, Yulia Tymoshenko has officially launched her third campaign for president. The Congress of the Batkivshchyna party has nominated its candidate for the post of head of state.
Earlier, the Central Election Commission of Ukraine closed all polling station in Russia, particularly, Moscow, Rostov-on-Don, Saint Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk.
Besides, the official presidential election campaign kicked off in Ukraine on December 31, 2018. The Presidential elections will take place on March 31, 2019.
