Ex-Party of Regions member Yefremov released from custody

Oleksandr Yefremov, the ex-head of party faction of the now-disbanded Party of Regions is walking free, being released from the detention center in Starobilsk, Luhansk region. 

He left the building at about 8 a.m. His lawyer Yevhen Solodko came to pick him up. The politician was also escorted by two law enforcers.

Yefremov was detained and accused of violation of foreign territorial supremacy and infringement of inviolability in Kyiv airport in July 2016. He was heading to Vienna. He is also charged with assistance in creation of so-called "LNR", misappropriation of state assets and deliberate actions aimed at changing the boundaries of Ukraine.

Apart from that Yefremov is charged with direct support of a Luhansk region militants and misappropriation of Luganskugol property.
