Ex-official of MIA apprehended on suspect of killing three Euromaidan protesters

The man tried to flee the justice and was put on the wanted list

Employees of the State Bureau of Investigations detained former official of the Main Department of the Interior Ministry in Kyiv. The ex-dignitary is suspected of killing three protesters during the events of Euromaidan in 2014. Press department of the Office of Prosecutor General reported that on September 20. 

The agency claimed that in September, the former law enforcer received charge papers and tried to flee the justice. However, he got detained.

According to the investigation team, in February 2014, the suspect obeyed the criminal order from leaders of the Main Department of the Interior Ministry and organized a terrorist act and the murder of unarmed protesters. That resulted in the death of three people; 73 people suffered wounds of various degrees of severity.

The officer is suspected of organizing a terrorist act, which was committed to fulfill the criminal order, as well as power abuse. 

Earlier, District Administrative Court of Kyiv reinstated Oleksandr Marynchenko in office; the ex-Berkut serviceman was among the suspects in the Euromaidan mass murder case.
