Michael Cohen, the former lawyer of U.S. President Donald Trump prepares for the deal with the prosecution. In the near future he can plead guilty in the number of the financial frauds and conclude a pretrial agreement with the prosecutor’s office as NBC News reported citing its own sources.
At the moment, the agreement is not signed yet, however, it is expected that it will be concluded during a day.
Particularly, it is expected that Cohen will offer the cooperation on the number of other cases and he will provide the assistance to the prosecution in the case of Russia’s interference into the presidential election in 2016.
As we reported President Donald Trump's former campaign chairman Paul Manafort has been found guilty on eight counts of financial crimes. After a 16-day trial Manafort was found guilty of five tax fraud charges, one charge of hiding foreign bank accounts, and two counts of bank fraud. The jury was unable to reach a verdict on the remaining 10 counts, and the judge declared a mistrial on those charges.
