Slawomir Nowak, the former CEO of Ukravtodor, Ukraine's State Roadway Service has been detained in Gdansk, Poland. Stanisław Żaryn, the press secretary of Coordination Minister of Poland's special services posted this on Twitter.
According to the Polish media, Nowak is suspected of acts of corruption, such as money laundering and running a criminal gang.
In 2011-2013, Nowak served as Minister of Transport, Construction and Maritime Governance of Poland, working in the government of Prime Minister Donald Tusk. Prior to that, he chaired the electoral campaign of Bronislaw Komorowski, the ex-President.
Nowak led Ukraine's State Roadway Service from October 2016 till September 2019.
