Ukraine’s national police detained former militant who stated his intention to serve in Ukraine’s Armed Forces.

‘The 27-year-old native of Paraskoviivka village, Bakhmutsky district, Donetsk region joined the DNR militants in 2014. At first, he served as a guard at a checkpoint; later, he joined the security service at a bank captured by pro-Russian militants. Two months after that, he got disappointed in the ideas of the ‘Russian world’, since militants cared only about money. He left the DNR and decided to join the Ukrainian army. The man thought his past was forsaken and forgotten; however, the police busted and detained him,’ the law enforcers said.

The man will be judged as the member of illegal armed formation - under the respective article of the Criminal Procedure Code.
