Recently detained former Director General of Ukrspetsexport Serhii Bondarchuk has posted bail. This was reported on Facebook by Larysa Sargan, the press secretary for Ukrainian Prosecutor General.
"Ex-head of Ukrspetsexport Serhii Bondarchuk was detained on March 15 and released on bail, that is provided by British law," she wrote.
"The extradition hearing is scheduled for March 24, 2017," she added.
Bondarchuk has posted photo on Facebook holding latest The Guardian edition, confirming this way that he was released.
Earlier Ukrainian Prosecutor General reported that former Director General of "Ukrspetsexport" was arrested in London on March 15. According to Lutsenko, Bondarchuk was taken into custody in terms of extradition process in London.
Serhii Bondarchuk is suspected of embezzling more than $7.4 million from Ukrspetsexport funds. He was declared wanted by Interpol on June 15.
Ukrspetsexport is a Ukrainian state-owned arms trading company and part of the state conglomerate Ukrainian Defense Industry.
