Ukraine’s Security Service, the SBU, and Prosecutor General’s Office are going to serve ex-director of Olimpiysky stadium in Kyiv with charge papers. The official is suspected of embezzlement of state funds before Euro-2012; Larysa Sargan, press secretary of Prosecutor General’s Office reported this on Facebook.
The law enforcers found out that in 2011, leading official of NSC Olimpiysky stadium bought stadium seats at a considerably over-inflated price; the perpetrators did it within the state special-purpose program for holding Euro-2012 in Ukraine and Poland. The costs (with the overall sum of roughly 1 million U.S. dollars) were later withdrawn via fictitious business entities.
The SBU, and Prosecutor General’s Office put the ex-director and his primary contractors on the wanted list; the investigation is underway.
