Dmytro Neskoromny, former Deputy Head of the SBU, Security Service of Ukraine recorded a video address, in which he claimed to be changing his "defense strategy".
Neskoromny is charged with the murder of Andriy Naumov, the Chief of SBU's Main Department of Internal Security.
The video message appeared on Neskoromny's Telegram channel on February 9, NewsOne reports.
The ex-SBU officer stated he was in decent health and safety; and yet, he had to cancel the press conference that he planned to convene on February 10.
"The government of Ukraine added me on the international wanted list. By the advice of my lawyers, I'm going to have to change my defense strategy", he said.
Neskoromny added that his defense team was negotiating with European legal bodies, and these talks will define his further actions.
"These are complicated negotiations. I had certain offers to consider, but I can't agree with that because I'm an active-duty worker of the Security Service of Ukraine. I will never agree on working against Ukraine. However, I'm ready to provide Europeans with information about corruption; I have data about pocketing international assistance, and information about the withdrawal of funds from state-run banks", the official said.
The ex-deputy head of the SBU also claims that the Service is now working against the interests of Ukraine; many workers are recruited in favor of foreign intelligence services.
