Sam Kislin, the American billionaire, ex-advisor of New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, arrived in Ukraine due to the investigation against ex-president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, as Apostrof reported.
“American billionaire, ex-advisor of New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Sam Kislin arrived in Ukraine a few hours ago,” the message said.
The journalists tied the visit of the businessman with the investigation of the corruption cases against former Ukraine’s President Poroshenko.
In March 2019, Kislin accused Poroshenko of the genocide of the Ukrainian people and predicted the loss of power by him.
Besides, Kislin revealed the corruption facts in the purchase of coal from Philadelphia when coal was taken to Ukraine from South Africa and Russia at high prices.
On August 28, 2018, Kislin arrived in Ukraine but he failed to leave terminal D, Boryspil Airport. The border guard service refused to allow him to enter Ukraine.
On the eve of the visit, he was banned from entry to Ukraine for five years. Such measures grounded by the need to protect the economic interests of the country.
Petro Poroshenko came for an interrogation at the State Investigations Bureau on August 12. Entering the main building of the State Bureau of Investigation (SIB) in Kyiv, the ex-president refused to reply to reporters' questions.
He was interrogated within the criminal proceeding on the possible tax evasion during the sales and purchase of Pryamy TV channel.
Besides, the SIB opened the criminal proceeding against Poroshenko due to his travel to the Maldives in January 2018. The officers of the body investigate the possible facts of the illegal crossing of the state border. There was the information after the travel that the ex-president crossed the border under an assumed name.
