European Parliament voted for granting visa-free regime for Georgia for visits to Schengen Area at plenary session on Thursday. This was reported by the journalist Rikard Jozwiak.
“The European Parliament have voted in favour of visa liberalization for Georgia. 553 for, 66 against, 28 abstained,” he wrote in Twitter.

It is also noted that in case of any violations, EU will use regime suspension mechanism in Georgia.
Earlier it was reported that visa-free regime for Georgia was to be voted on February 2. Previously, Committee of the European Parliament voted for the abolition of visas.
