In a resolution on the implementation of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, the European Parliament supported the creation of the Crimean Platform and called on EU countries to support this initiative. The text of the resolution is published on the website of the Parliament.
"The European Parliament reaffirms its call for an international format of negotiations for the de-occupation of the Crimean peninsula with the active participation of the EU, calls on the Vice President of the European Commission, the High Representative of the European Union and EU member states to provide all the necessary support in creating an international Crimean platform, ensure coordination, formalization and systematization of efforts aimed at restoring the territorial integrity of Ukraine, "the text of the resolution says.
Also, the European Parliament considers it important to involve the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people in the work of the Crimean platform "as the only internationally recognized representative body of the Crimean Tatars."
Earlier it was reported that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is starting a new stage of interaction with international partners regarding the Crimean platform.
It is expected that the Crimean Platform will become a new international format for increasing the efficiency and coordination of the international community's actions to de-occupy Crimea and protect the rights and interests of Crimeans, as well as to formalize and systematize all existing and new formats of cooperation in this matter.
