The European Parliament approved a resolution on the restoration of the European economy affected by the epidemic of coronavirus. The head of the European Parliament David Sassoli announced this, the press service of the European legislative body reports.
“It was very important that the parliament overwhelmingly spoke out in favor of a decisive plan for the economic recovery of Europe. This means using all available resources to stimulate the economy, including compensatory bonds, that is, the possibility of attracting financing in international markets for our joint recovery,” Sassoli said.
According to him, members of parliament have yet to take care of the distribution of costs that each EU country will incur in connection with the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic. The head of the European Parliament says that a certain “form of mutual influence” between the countries is needed in relation to future debt, which will accumulate as part of the restoration of the EU economy.
Sassoli will present a plan for overcoming the crisis at a meeting of the next European Council on April 23.
As we reported before, US President Donald Trump has promised to hold China accountable if Beijing’s guilt in spreading the coronavirus pandemic is proven.
