EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Josep Borrell will make a report on his visit to Moscow at a meeting of the European Parliament and in front of the European Commission that will also consider new sanctions against Russia. This was reported by Politico.

On Tuesday, Borrel will address the European Parliament, which has called for sanctions to halt the completion of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline between Russia and Germany.

"My visit to Moscow highlighted that Russia does not want to seize the opportunity to have a more constructive dialogue with the EU. This is regrettable and we will have to draw the consequences," said Borrell in his post.

Meanwhile, seventy-three MEPs have already signed a draft letter by Estonian European People’s Party MEP Riho Terras on Borrell's resignation due to his failure to stand for the interests and values of the European Union during his visit to Russia.

As we reported earlier, Germany, Poland, and Sweden expelled three Russian diplomats in a coordinated retaliation for the expulsion of three employees of their embassies by the Russian Federation.
