European Commission sees no convincing proof of reason for PS752 crash, - von der Leyen

Brussels points out that currently, there is no convincing evidence of the true reason for Ukraine's airplane crash in Iran. Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the EU authority reported that at a briefing in Brussels on Friday. Yevropeiska Pravda outlet quoted her as saying.

"On this particular stage, there are no convincing pieces of evidence and we still wait for the results of the investigation that is underway", the top EU official said.

The European Commission President avoided a direct response to the question if the European Commission believed that Iran could perform an independent investigation; however, she mentioned that Brussels hoped for it. 

She added that the European Commission was ready to provide any necessary assistance for the countries involved in the probe.

On January 8, Boeing 737 of Ukraine's International Airlines, flight PS752 with 176 passengers aboard crashed in Tehran, not far from Imam Khomeini airport.

11 citizens of Ukraine died in the crash of Boeing 737 of Ukraine's International Airlines (PS 752 flight). President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky reported that the passenger plane crash in the Iranian capital left no survivors.

Earlier, the Ukrainian commission on the crash of Boeing 737 in Teheran, which arrived in Iran, holds a discussion on agreement on the issue of the visit of the catastrophe site with the Iranian authorities. It intends to hold a search of the wreckage of the Russian Tor missile system, which launch is considered to be one of the main versions of the crash.

Canadian intelligence and that of the country's allies confirm that the Ukrainian civilian aircraft in Iran was shot down by a missile as Justin Trudeau, the Prime Minister of Canada said.
