EU urgent summit to take place May 28, - Tusk

The urgent summit of the European Union will take place May 28. President of the European Council Donald Tusk reported that after an informal meeting of the EU member countries in Sibiu, Romania.


The next elections to the European Parliament are expected to be held between 23 and 26 May 2019 and it is the 9th parliamentary election since the first direct elections in 1979. A total of 751 Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) currently represent more than 512 million people from 28 member states.

Earlier, Tusk said he was looking forward to cooperation with Ukraine's president-elect Volodymyr Zelensky. The two talked on the phone, as Tusk assured Zelensky of the EU's steadfast support to Ukraine.
