"It will definitely happen. Both President of the European Council Charles Michel and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen confirmed that the EU-Ukraine summit, which we are preparing for, will take place on October 1, during their talks with President Zelensky," Zhovkva said.
According to him, Ukraine expects that an agreement on a common aviation area will be signed at this event.
"Everyone knew about the problems between the UK and Spain due to the status of Gibraltar airport. With the UK leaving the EU, this problem has disappeared. The latest technical negotiations are underway. Spain should provide its reading of the airport’s status. And we have a specific goal – to get this agreement finally concluded at the EU-Ukraine summit in October," the official added.
As we reported earlier, in 2019, EU-Ukraine summit was hosted by Kyiv.
