Representatives of 27 EU member countries signed a letter of consent so that the EU-UK deal on trade and cooperation would start working on January 1, 2021.
Sebastian Fischer, the press secretary of German delegation in the EU reported that on Twitter.

According to the official, the deal between the EU and the UK will be signed on December 30. Leader of the European Commission Ursula von der Leien, Head of the European Council Charles Michel and Boris Johnson will sign the document.
The document is of temporary nature; for it to take effect permanently, it is supposed to be ratified by European Parliament.
