Viktor Yanukovych and his son will remain on the sanctions list

The EU made a decision to lift sanctions against former prime minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov and former energy minister Eduard Stavytskyi as Radio Liberty correspondent in Brussels Rikard Jozwiak reported.

“There is an agreement to remove the former PM of Ukraine Azarov and the ex-energy minister Stavytskyi from the EU sanctions list. Oleksandr Yanukovych will remain on the list for six months. Nine others, including his father (Viktor Yanukovych, -, for 12 months,” the journalist reported.

According to the journalist, the decision should be officially announced next week.

Earlier, it was reported that the European Union is preparing to lift sanctions against former members of the government since ex-President Viktor Yanukovych. Possibly, the sanctions can be lifted from ex-Prime Minister Mykola Azarov, former Prime Minister Serhiy Arbuzov, former Minister of Revenue and Duties Oleksandr Klymenko and former Prosecutor General Viktor Pshonka
