The EU has reacted with restraint in response to a new plan on Brexit, presented by Theresa May, the British Prime Minister. Deutsche Welle reports this.

Michel Barnier, the head of EU delegation has been welcoming certain sections of white paper at the negotiations with London on Friday on July 20. Although, he added that many questions remain open. From his side, Simon Coveney, the Head of the MFA of Ireland expressed his doubt that the EU would endorse all sections contained in the white paper.

In their turn, the Government of Germany is not excluding a possibility of an irregular exit of Great Britain from the EU. ‘At present, we can't exclude anything,’ Michael Roth, the State Minister for EU Affairs claimed.

Reportedly, Michel Barnier met with Dominic Raab, the recently elected British Minister for the exit of Great Britain from EU. On July 20, he reported on the results of the meeting of ministers from the rest 27 EU countries. Based on results of the briefing, Barnier claimed that certain sections contained in the white paper open the door for constructive discussions, however, the proposals have to be practical than to contribute to further bureaucratization.

Barnier also recalled that 13 weeks left to prepare the agreement on the Brexit manner to the next summit of EU scheduled for October.
