The European Commission is preparing a plan in the event of problems during negotiations on the UK's exit from the European Union (Brexit). This is reported by the newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, referring to the internal documents of the EU.
It is known that work has already begun on the plan in all areas, from customs to fisheries.
According to media reports, the head of the EU delegation at the talks, Michel Barnier, said that the European Union should be prepared for the worst scenario.
One of the scenarios of the development of situation, which is working in the EU, provides the possibility of withdrawing without the UK's conclusion of an agreement with Brussels.
At the moment, the negotiations are at an impasse, the parties can not reach agreement on major issues, including the future rights of EU citizens residing in the UK, as well as the openness of the British border with Ireland. At the same time, the media reported that parties agreed on another key issue - the amount of compensation for the withdrawal.
