The EU Permanent Council at OSCE asked the Russian government to release Ukrainian movie maker Oleg Sentsov. This is mentioned in the authority's respective tweet.
At @OSCE Permanent Council @EU calls on #Russia to immediately and unconditionally release Ukrainian film director Oleg #Sentsov, on hunger strike for more than 100 days in protest against incarceration of Ukrainian political prisoners by Russia— EU at OSCE (@EUOSCE) August 30, 2018
Earlier, Ukraine's vice speaker of the Parliament Iryna Gerashchenko reported worsening of the health conditions of Oleg Sentsov and Volodymyr Balukh, the Ukrainian political prisoners in Russia.
She also added that Ukraine did not get Moscow’s reply to Kyiv’s offer to release more than 30 convicted Russians in exchange for the release of the Ukrainian hostages. “We were informed about the deterioration of the health condition of Volodymyr Balukh, Oleg Sentsov and others,” Gerashchenko wrote on Facebook.
According to her, Ukraine has not received an answer from Russia concerning the offers to exchange Russians for Ukrainians – neither within the humanitarian subgroup in Minsk, nor through the Foreign Ministry or Ombudsmen Institute.
