The European Union intends to increase the role of state-members during the talks with the candidates for entrance to the EU as Radio Liberty reported.

Such changes are possible due to the new method of governance of extension of the bloc. It happened after the EU stopped the opening of the negotiations on the membership of North Macedonia and Albania. The representatives of France state that these countries have not reached enough progress in holding reforms, which aim the fight against corruption.

The European Commission offers the state-members to make more systematic contributions in the entrance process. They will also have a possibility to analyze and control the common progress. The EU believes that it will allow to make the entrance process more predictable and dynamic.
