EU does not recognize local elections in occupied Crimea

The European Union does not recognize the local elections in occupied Crimea. The press secretary of the EU reported that. 

"The European Union does not recognize the illegal annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol by the Russian Federation, and continues to condemn this violation of international law. Therefore, the European Union does not recognize the holding of elections in the Crimean peninsula. Anybody elected in the Crimean peninsula claiming to "represent" the populations of Crimea and Sevastopol will not be recognized as representatives of those territories, which are Ukrainian," the post reads.

The voting day was held in Russia on September 8. Residents of the peninsula were choosing "MPs" and "local authorities". The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine expressed the protests against "the elections" in Crimea. 

As we reported earlier, the European Union expects the full investigation of the attack on 112 Ukraine TV channel building from the Ukrainian authorities as Federica Mogherini, the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, stated.
