"The EU countries were divided into three groups depending on how they are technically ready to issue certificates, and tests are expected to begin in the second week of May," the statement said.
So, in May, testing of Covid passports will begin in Greece, Spain, Italy, Bulgaria, Estonia, Luxembourg and Malta. Cyprus fell into the second group and will conduct testing later.
It is also reported that the digital certificate of vaccination will be technically ready by June 1 and will work from June 30. The certificate will confirm that travelers are vaccinated against the coronavirus.
In mid-April it was reported that Ukraine had agreed with the European Commission on the compatibility of Ukrainian and European Covid passports. The compatibility of the Ukrainian and European certificates will allow Ukrainians to travel freely throughout Europe. A digital passport will confirm that a person has been vaccinated against coronavirus, has had it, and also passed tests.
