The EU may approve the next, fifth package of sanctions against Belarus next month. Rikard Jozwiak, the Belgian reporter of Radio Liberty reported that on Twitter, citing a high-level EU official.

In August, US President Joe Biden signed the decree on implementation of new sanctions against the Republic of Belarus. These restrictions include blocking the assets of Belarusian officials.

In turn, Anatoliy Isachenko, the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Belarus turned to the UN General Assembly, complaining about the Western sanctions. He pointed out to the economic and political pressure on Belarus. In the appeal, Isachenko asks the UN to persuade those who initiated the sanctions to change their mind.
