The European Union and the United States of America expressed disappointment at the delay in the election of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office Head. This is stated on the Facebook page of the US Embassy in Ukraine.

"The EU and the US are greatly disappointed by unexplained and unjustifiable delays in the selection of the Head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor Office, a crucial body in the fight against high-level corruption," the statement said.

The embassy called on the selection committee to resume work without further delay.

They noted that stopping the selection process undermines the work of anti-corruption bodies created by Ukraine and its international partners.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also reacted to the selection situation.

"I have not heard adequate explanations regarding the delay in the competition to elect a new head of the SAP. Members of the competition committee must fulfill their duty as expected. For Ukraine, the effectiveness of anti-corruption institutions is a priority," the president wrote on Twitter.

111 people applied for participation in the competition for the position of head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.

At a regular meeting on March 1, the commission changed the passing score. Applicants now need to score 80 points in the legislation test and 110 points in the general aptitude test.

After the tests, an interview should take place. And the potential head of the SAP and his deputy will have to undergo a polygraph test.

In the final, the winners will be determined in accordance with their positions in the ranking after all selection stages.
