The unscheduled Brexit summit will be announced the next week in Salzburg at the meeting of the leaders of the EU. The Guardian reported this with a reference to the authorities of the EU and diplomats.
According to the outlet, the summit is scheduled for November. The announcement will be made at the informal summit, which will take place in Austria on September 19-20. It is expected that the EU leaders will discuss the course of the negotiations with Great Britain. The formal summit of the EU will take place yet on October 18-19, and it is expected that a resolution regarding the border with Ireland will be found and suit both sides.
However, the special summit – likely to be held on 13 November – would then allow EU heads of state and government to wrap up the terms of a political declaration on a future deal on trade, security, aviation, and fisheries, among other issues.
European Union and European Commission are not commenting on the expected date of the summit.
As it was reported earlier, Theresa May, Prime Minister of Great Britain would take the negotiations on the Brexit under her own control.
